More Django Vs Zope

A commenter has kindly pointed out that searches on Django might not refer to the web framework. So I did a little more digging. This time - via Alexa. Who is the winner this time?

Zope vs Django Traffic

Caveat: Alexa users are predominantly Windows users. Given that Microsoft still own the lion share of the desktop market, the statistics still carry weight.

By the way, if you are developing on Zope, you might like to check out screencast: Debugging Zope with Pdb

I hate to say it, but there’s more to this one as well. Check out Django vs. Plone:

    http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details?compare_sites=djangoproject.com&range=6m&size=medium&y=r&url=plone.org

If you add Plone.org+Zope.org (plus other Zope-related resource sites), you’d likely have a fair amount of traffic.

When it comes to web *application* development, I think TurboGears and Django are indeed picking up the mindshare from Zope. Zope/Plone are still quite big, though, because they are very powerful CMS tools.

Interestingly, the traffic for Zope and Django seem to be correlated.

    Anybody who can interpret that?
