Sex Survey Drawn the Wrong Conclusions

I can’t figure out the maths behind this Young women ‘have more sexual partners’ than men.

The headline reads Young women ‘have more sexual partners’ than men, but the subheads read Young women are more promiscuous than men, according to a survey that claims the average 21-year-old has had nine sexual partners compared with seven for men.

To me, this indicates the pool of promiscuous women has actually decreased relative to the pool of promiscuous men.

That would assume that 21 year old women sleep with 21 year old men

That would make sense except for the fact that a higher percentage of women were promiscuous, as well as having more partners.

Looks like the opposite may be true- a shrinking pool of men.
