Backup systems
Seth Godin writes: “Backup is too important to be left for a human to do”.
So true. Backing up applications should have been a no-brainer for Microsoft to set a standard, which already provides a simple backup application on it’s OSes. All applications should emit a backup specification, so that back up programs could automatically learn which files ought to be backed up, and how often.
About a year ago, I looked around on the net to see if the backup vendors have a common file format but nothing turned up.
